NUTRITION SECURITY

in July 2026, CSS began implementing the Mono County Nutrition Security Program to ensure local families have consistent access to healthy, nutritious food. CSS sets up mobile food distributions, stocks local food pantries, and connects residents to vital health and public assistance resources. At the same time, the program helps local businesses donate excess fresh food instead of throwing it away, meeting California’s organic waste reduction goals (SB 1383) while keeping healthy meals on the tables of low-income families and Medi-Cal beneficiaries across the county.
